Z nocoviště / From the roosting place

Dnes večer 12.3. na nocoviště na rybníku na Českolipsku přiletělo celkem 21 jeřábů a mezi nimi byli hned tři kroužkovaní.

Tonight 12.3. a total of 21 cranes arrived at the roosting place on the lake in the Česká Lípa area and among them were three ringed cranes.

Zpět v hejnu / Back in flock

Jeřáb s vysílačem z roku 2017 dnes 9.3. opustil Českolipsko a opět se připojil k velkému hejnu téměř šedesáti jeřábů, se kterými se krmil celý den na poli na Mladoboleslavsku. Z podvečerního pečlivého pozorování ale bylo patrné, že se i v hejnu nadále drží společně s dalším jeřábem v páru.

Crane with a transmitter from 2017, today 9.3. it left Českolipsko and again joined a large flock of nearly sixty cranes with which it fed all day in the field in Mladá Boleslav district. During early evening careful observation it was clear that even in the flock continues to stick together with another crane in pair.

Poprvé v páru / For the first time in a couple

Jeřábi popelaví začínají dospívat ve třech letech a tohoto věku právě dosáhl náš první jeřáb označený vysílačem. Tři dny se zdržuje poblíž jednoho malého mokřadu na Českolipsku. V neděli 8.3. ani za celé dopoledne mokřad neopustil a nám se podařilo vypozorovat, že je tam pouze s jedním dalším  neoznačeným jeřábem. Je to vůbec poprvé co byl pozorován jen v páru.

The Eurasian Cranes begin to grow mature at the age of three, and this is when our first crane with the transmitter has just reached that age. He has been staying near a small wetland in the Česká Lípa region for three days. Sunday 8.3. he did not leave the wetland even the whole morning and we watched that he was there with only one other unmarked crane. This is the very first time he has been observed in a pair.
